Appendix 1.23 - Basis of Diagnosis

Code describing the method of original diagnosis, i.e. how the diagnosis was confirmed.

The following are the possible values to describe the basis of diagnosis.

1 = Positive histology.

2 = Positive cytology.

4 = Positive microbiology.

5 = Positive lab test.

6 = Direct visual.

7 = Imaging.

8 = Clinical only.

9 = Unknown.
